This site specific piece "Thought" was made in response to Heathcote Rehabilitation Hospital, a specialist unit for people with brain injuries.
Pure spectra continually change colour, appear and disappear, as the holographic mobile rotates, is an analogy for the neuron activity of the brain. In turn also, perhaps, of thinking and the allusiveness of consciousness.
The mobile sculpture is suspended from the ceiling and is 4 metres high by 3 metres diameter. It rotates slowly almost a full circle one way and then the other. The holograms and their individual lights gently see-saw and receive their power through the structure and solid metal rods.
